  • 1 cup butter
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 4-5 teaspoons water
  • sliced almonds

directions

1. Heat oven to 400. Combine butter, sugar, extract, flour, and powder and beat.
2. Drop by teaspoons on sheet. Flatten to 1/4" thickness with a glass bottom dipped in sugar.
3. Bake 7-9 minutes or until edges are browned.
4. Cool 1 minute on sheet.
5. Remove and cool completely. Stir together all glaze ingredients except almonds and whisk. 6. Drop small circle of glaze on each and arrange 8 almond slices on each.
